Lumotive Wins “Best of Sensors 2021 – Startup of the Year” Award

Key Takeaways
  • Spotlight on innovative sensor technologies
  • Lumotive's award-winning  Meta-Lidar™Platform is the industry''s smallest, most cost-effective 3D sensing solution

SEATTLE, WA – September 29, 2021 – Lumotive, a leading developer of solid-state lidar systems for automotive, industrial and consumer applications, has been recognized by media and information services providers Questex and Fierce Electronics with the “Best of Sensors 2021 - Startup of the Year” award presented at the recent Sensors Converge event held in San Jose, California.

For more than two decades, the Best of Sensors Awards have shone a spotlight on the best and most innovative products, technologies, teams, and people in the sensors industry. The goal of the awards program is to honor and promote wide recognition of the industry’s most transformative technologies and teams.

“Since the company's inception, Lumotive has earned a reputation as being a startup that other technology companies want to work with," said Charlene Soucy, Senior Director, Sensors Converge. “In addition to partnerships with top semiconductor and display technology companies, Lumotive is working with an impressive list of automotive, industrial and smartphone suppliers to integrate their unique lidar sensors into a variety of exciting end products.”

Introduced at Sensors Converge, Lumotive’s Meta-Lidar™ Platform is the industry’s smallest and most cost-effective 3D sensing solution comprising a Lumotive tiny lidar device with patented beam steering technology, software-defined scan modes, and a reference system design. Powered by Lumotive’s highly scalable Light Control Metasurface™ silicon chips (LCMs) manufactured in a standard CMOS semiconductor process, the Meta-Lidar Platform is a solution that scales for a range of size, price, performance and power requirements, removing barriers to greater proliferation of 3D sensing in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

“Lumotive is focused on bringing groundbreaking solutions to market that our customers can utilize to differentiate next-generation designs,” said Gleb Akselrod, CTO and co-founder of Lumotive. “We are honored to be recognized for those efforts with such an important award.”
